Due to our big snowfall and no school, our Scholastic Book Fair will be extended through Tuesday, March 5.  You can purchase books in the Media Center until 5:30 on both Monday and Tuesday.  PTSO receives a portion of the sales, so please buy books!  It's good for our kids' reading skills and it helps our school!

Stallion Stories

We are excited to share with you a new place on our blog that we're calling "Stallion Stories"!  Each month, we'll update this page with stories, artwork, poems and other writings of our students at Shepard.  This month, we're showcasing the art and writings of Mrs. Sicht's kindergarten class as they honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Click the link "Stallion Stories" on the right, and you'll see the beautiful and thoughtful work of our kindergarteners!

"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education."
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

It's fundraiser time!! Packets went home with students last Friday. We are selling frozen gourmet pizza and cookie dough from Otis Spunkmeyer, February 1st through February 15th. All items are $16 each. Items will be available to pick up for delivery on Tuesday March, 19th after school until 6:00pm. Please accept only checks or cash. If accepting checks, have them made out to: Shepard PTSO and collect as soon as the order is placed. This year the funds will go to purchasing a new sign for the school. Let's get those kids busy! Call grandparents, talk to neighbors (the nice ones!), hair dressers, co-workers, etc, etc. Good Luck!!

Grandparent's Day

Mark your calendars! We're calling all Shepard grandparents and special senior friends to attend our annual Grandparents Day at Shepard School on Friday, March 8 at 2 p.m.  It's a wonderful chance for our grandparents to see what's happening at our school and meet the teachers, students, and staff.  This popular, annual tradition brings grandparents and senior friends near and far!  We hope your family will invite a special senior to your child's classroom for Grandparent's Day!
